Our 4th of July was very low-key. Greg went golfing at 6:00 a.m. with my brothers. I got the kids up and rushed over to the church for our annual ward breakfast. We had just gotten home at midnight from the cabin (and American Fork) and were so very tired and without a car. We barely made it to the church in time for Ben to ride his scooter in the parade.

Later that night, we went to Stacie and Patrick's for a BBQ. Notice the beautiful desserts Stacie made. She made a watermelon ice cream sculpture and a very patriotic cake. It was so yummy.

Greg and Ben did some fireworks later that night. Poor Ben does not take after Greg AT ALL in loving fireworks. He is deathly afraid of them. Even fireworks that give off the tiniest "pop" he runs for cover on the front porch, covering his ears. It's quite commical to watch him do the poppers. He raises both hands above his head so his shoulders and upper arm are covering his ears, and throws it from above his head like that. Notice in the above picture that he is standing on the porch wearing Greg's ear protection. Poor little guy!

Devin doesn't like fireworks either! He covers his ears as well and cries throughout the entire show. He did better with the fireworks that the city lights off, but HATES the screaming, popping, noisy fireworks.
