I love, love this last picture of her lying in the sun looking at her finger. Poor little girl. There was a bumblebee on the driveway that was hurt, I guess, because it was just walking around. I asked Greg to move it, and he went to get something to do so just as Reese quickly crawled over and picked it up. She started screaming. I grabbed her up and there in her pointer finger was the stinger. A flood of information I had heard over the years came rushing into my head as I began to attempt to flick it out of her finger - not pinch it out as it can force more poison (or whatever) into the victim. It took a few flicks and it came out. Then, I don't know if this helped at all, but I started sucking on her finger. Maybe that's only for snake bites. But better to be safe than sorry I guess. It ended up swelling a bit. She didn't want it under cold water, and having an ice cube on it was torture. So after a phone call to Granny, we mixed up a paste of baking soda and put some on a Strawberry Shortcake bandaid and put it on her finger. She did not like that either, oh boy! She also got a dose of Tylenol and Benedryl. After crying for a long time, she settled down enough to go to bed. This morning I asked her how her finger was and told her she could take off her bandaid, and she did just that.
