Mmmmmm .....

Ranch - it's a staple food, right? I was BUSY, and late, at getting dinner on the table tonight. Reese was hungry and tired, so I sat her up to the table with macaroni and cheese - leftover from lunch, thank you. She ate it, then trickily acquired Ben's snack (veggies & ranch) from earlier that was still on the table. Again, one of Those Moments where I wanted to take it away, but the damage was done - already in the works. Gooey white - coating her delicious baby fingers - dripping into her lap. So, I let her do what she was doing while I finished and served dinner. She grabbed a mushroom - but it ends there. No ingestion of the large fungus took place. That information alone should make Auntie Leslie particularly happy. It was merely used as a transport for the beloved ranch from bowl to mouth.

And Suzanne - you were right on the money. Letting my children DRAW on themselves and me was only the beginning. Since that night, Reese grabs a pen, marker or even crayon, and immediately draws on her forehead. Thus, the purple pen on her head this evening. Ah. Puts a smile on my face.

Pretty soon it will become all your pictures she will have a pen mark on her head and then family pictures and then school pictures and then graduation pictures, on and on and the vicious cycle will never end. All because one day, her mother got crazy with the pen. LOL I'm just kidding!! Although, the day when she is older and wants a tatoo because she whipped out the olden day pictures, yeah, you have fun with that one!!! LOL He He He! I'm just playing with ya! -Suzanne

Of course! My kids use various foods to get various sauces into their mouths without actually ingesting the nutritious food. How is that possible? Love the pen on the head! Oh- the joys of motherhood!
