MILLCREEK CANYON

Today we went for a hike up Millcreek Canyon.  When we reached the top where we were going to park and hike, the thermometer said it was 46 degrees!
Right at the beginning of our hike, we found two perfect walking sticks.

The kids had a fun time putting leaves & sticks in one side of the stream, then running over to where it came out the other side and watching what they threw in come out.

This leaf was in a dark little patch of shade, with the sun shining directly on it.

Ben & Reese loved throwing rocks in the stream and could've done so all day.

Reese insisted on bringing her doll and puppy.  About 1/2 way, the doll took a ride in Nana's pocket.

Poor Reesey fell down right on her bottom.
Then Ben fell down and cut up his finger.

Ben balancing and walking over a wide & shallow stream.

The smell of the mountains reminded me of the years we vacationed at Ferron.  How I love and miss that place.  My grandma Gunderson's family started going there when she was a tiny baby.  They went every year of her growing up years.  My mother's family went all of her growing up years.  And we went every single year (for two weeks) up until I was 15 years old.  There were one room cabins to stay in.  No electricity.  No bathroom's.  Nothing to do but get dirty, play with cousins, fish in the reservoir (don't forget the orange life jackets), and swing on the huge old swing set.  I miss those days more than just about anything, but I am glad I have the memories.
